There are many different ways you can help: purchasing a membership, making a donation, or giving your time as a volunteer.
Why Support Black Creek?
History museums play vital roles in our communities. They are trusted sources of knowledge, stewards of important artifacts, and keepers of our collective identities and memories.
By contributing to Black Creek Pioneer Village — whether as a donor, a member or a volunteer — you are benefiting the thousands of people who visit this living museum each year. You are supporting life-long learning and healthy communities, and encouraging the celebration of stories that connect us all as Canadians.
Your investment in Black Creek is an investment in our community’s heritage for everyone to enjoy — today and in the future.
About the Living City Foundation
TRCA helps people understand, enjoy and look after the natural environment. Its vision is for The Living City®: a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live — for you today, and for your children tomorrow. The Foundation was established in 1961, and since that time has raised more than $37 million for the building of The Living City®.
Founded in 1957, TRCA monitors, protects and regenerates the nine watersheds that flow through the Toronto region into Lake Ontario. TRCA’s partners are the City of Toronto, the regional municipalities of Durham, Peel and York, the Town of Mono and the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. It serves a population of 4.3 million.
TRCA is the largest owner of green space in the Toronto region with over 40,000 acres. It owns and operates Black Creek Pioneer Village, the Kortright Centre for Conservation, Tommy Thompson Park, three outdoor education field centres, and ten parks and conservation areas.
It also owns other “green gems” like Humber Bay Park, Bluffers Park, the Ajax Waterfront Park and the Don Valley Brick Works, which are maintained by TRCA’s municipal partners.
The Living City® is a broad vision that can only be achieved with the help of our partners and the community as we aim to build a foundation of healthy rivers and shorelines, regional biodiversity, sustainable communities and business excellence.
